Announcements –  24th  December 2008

 

1.      Tomorrow 25th December, the Christmas mass timings in the morning are as follows :-

      English Mass in MPH   - at  7:00am, 8:30am and 10:00am.

       Please see the Parish Notice Board and our website for Mass timings.

 

2.  A special annual Parish event of “Home away from Home” will be organized on Christmas Day – 25 December, in Bishop Trinanzi Auditorium for the domestic or farm workers of our Parish.  The Mass will be followed by gifts, music, fun and snacks.  It will be free of charge. 

 Timings:   Morning session     :    9:00am to 12:00 Noon

                            Afternoon session   :    3:00 pm to 6:00pm     

     Anyone who wishes to contribute cakes, snacks, gifts or cash are welcome towards   this event, all contributions may be delivered at the Bishop Trinanzi Auditorium, tomorrow from 8:30am onwards.

 

3.      The “Annual Christmas Dinner Dance” will be held on Friday 26th December from 8:00pm onwards in the Bishop Trinanzi Auditorium. Live music will be provided by the band “NightShades”. Invitation Cards are available in the Church compound and Parish Office.  Entry for the dance is restricted to “Parishioners only”.  Please patronize.

 

4.      Wednesday 31st December is the last day of the year 2008. Before we enter the New Year 2009, we invite all our parishioners and various Parish Groups to attend the Special Holy Hour of Adoration at 10:45pm followed by the Solemn Concelebrated Thanksgiving Mass at 12:00am in the MPH, to thank God for the year 2008 and to ask blessings and graces for the year 2009.  Please make time for these services before you go for other celebrations.

 

5.      Our Parish Calendars for the year 2009 are now available in the Church compound and Parish Office. Please make sure you have this Calendar in  your homes.

 

6.     The much awaited Family Day 2009 will be held at the Church grounds on 6th February with the theme ‘Family – The Santuary of Light, Life and Love’.  Parishioners, we need your support and cooperation to make this day a success.

Announcements –  19th, 20th, AND 21st    December 2008

 

1.     We welcome Fr. Joseph Azzo from Lebanon for the Ministry in our Parish. He will conduct the Advent and Christmas Services for  our Arabic and French Community. We wish him a Spirit filled Ministry. 

2.     The nine days dawn masses which started from 16th December onwards, is being held every morning at 5:00am. All parishioners are urged to participate.  For more information please refer to the notice board.

 3.     A short Mission for three days in preparation for Christmas will be  conducted by Fr. Andre Fernandes in the MPH. It begins on Saturday 20th December from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, on Sunday 21st December from 07:00pm to 9.00pm and Monday 22nd December from 6:00pm onwards. All parishioners are requested to attend the same. Priests will also be available for confession. (REPEAT FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY) 

4.     Sharing our joy with the poor and the needy is a NOVEL method of preparing ourselves for Christmas. All Parishioners are requested to register their Spiritual gift to Baby Jesus. For details, please see the notice board near the “STAGE/ CRIB AREA”.  

5.     On 24th December there will be the Christmas Vigil Mass at 11:15pm in Isa Town.   Hence, there will be no 5:30pm and 7:00pm Masses.  For schedule of services for Christmas and New Year, please refer to the Church website and Parish notice board.  

6.     Buses for the midnight services at Isa Town on 24th December, will leave the bus stop near the Arts and Craft Center. The timing for the first trip is at 9:30pm followed by the next bus at 10:00pm and 10:30pm. Please make use of it.  

7.      Those going by their cars, are requested to kindly pass by the steel gate of the church to give people a lift, on their way to Isa Town for the services.

10. The Feast of Holy Innocents falls on Sunday the 28th December, there will be a blessing of infants after the mass. 

11. The Feast of the Holy Family will be celebrated on Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th December. There will be a blessing of the families at the end of all the Masses. We will be closing the year dedicated to the Family on 28th December 2008. We urge you to recite the prayer for the Family, so that our families will be real sanctuaries of love, peace and joy.

 12. There will be no Catechism on 26th December and NO Childrens’ and Youth Mass on that day.  

13.  There will be no Baptism on Thursday 25th December 2008 and 1st January 2009.

 FRIDAY MORNING ONLY

1.     The Parents’ Mass on Friday 19th December, at 9:00 am will be in the Mother Church, and the Children Mass with the Christmas Presentation will be held in the MPH at 9:00 am.

 2.     The Hospitality Ministry’s Meeting in preparation for will be held on Friday 19th December at 6:45 pm in the Audio Video Room. Members please be present.

Announcements – 12th , 13th & 14th December 2008

 

1. As a preparation for Christmas, this year we are introducing the nine days dawn masses, with the Mission. It will be held every morning at 5:00 am from 16th December onwards. All parishioners are urged to participate. For more information please refer to the notice board. During this time priests will also be available for confession.

 

2.     Sharing our joy with the poor and the needy is the NOVEL method of preparing ourselves for Christmas. All Parishioners and volunteers from the Prayer Groups are requested to register their Spiritual gift to Baby Jesus as an Advent Preparation for Christmas. For details, please see the notice board near the “STAGE/ CRIB AREA”.

 

3. The “Deepening of the Catholic Faith” program will be held on Saturday, 13th December after the 7:30 pm mass in the Bishop Trinanzi Auditorium. Parishioners participation in the Praise and Worship session to deepen the Catholic Faith is solicited.

 

4.  The Lectors’ meeting for the month of December will be held on Monday, the 15th December at 7.00 pm in the Parish Community Center Rooms 6 and 7.

 

5.     The Parish Coordinators meeting will be held on Monday 15th December 2008 at 7.00 pm in the Audio Video Room.  All Coordinators to attend this meeting.

 

6.     Novena in preparation for Christmas will begin on Monday the 15th December, ten minutes before the evening mass. The daily Rosary will begin 10 minutes early.

 

7.     The Parent’s Mass will be on Friday 19th December, at 9:00 am in the Mother Church, and the Children Mass with the Christmas Presentation will be held in the MPH at 9:00 am.  There will be no Catechism on 26th December and NO Childrens’ and Youth Mass on that day.

1.     Monday, 8th December is the Feast of The Immaculate Conception. The Feast will be celebrated at 6:30 pm in the MPH. All parishioners are urged to participate.

 

2.     The next Marriage Preparation Course will be held on 8th, 9th  and 10th  December from 6.30 pm to 9 pm in the Audio Video room. All those who wish to attend this course, will have to register their names before the commencement of the course at 6.30 pm. and have to be present on all three days on time, failing which they will have to repeat the course at another time. Please bring your Bible with you.

9.     The Filipino Community will be conducting their Recollection & Confession on the first day of Eid Al Adha (Sunday 7th or Monday 8th December 2008), in the Bishop Trinanzi Auditorium right after the Filipino Mass at 7:00 am.

 

10. During the Advent season, the Priests will be available before and during mass in the confessionals.  Please avail this opportunity and do not wait till the last moment.

 

11.  We extend a warm welcome to Fr. Donvincent Wijersuriya, a priest from Srilanka who is here from today till Sunday for a short mission for the Srilankan Community.

Social evening and cultural programme for the month of December will be  conducted on 2nd  Thursday, 11th  December at B.T.A.  Programmes include  singing, dance Bible quiz and other interesting events.  All parishioners are requested to come and enjoy the weekend with fun filled  pgrogrammes.  Admission free for parishioners .

5.  The First Gulf Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference,  will  be held in St. Joseph’s Church,  Abu Dhabi,  on 7th,  8th and  9th December during the Eid  Holidays. The General Convener Fr. Varghese Chempoly,  with the consent of their excellencies Bishop  Camillo Ballin and Bishop Paul    Hinder, has  requested  our  special  intercessory prayers  for the success of this convention , which  will  be prayed after the communion during all the obligation masses.

 

6. We will be celebrating the Feast of Christ the King  on  Friday,  21st,  Saturday 22nd  and Sunday 23rd  November 2008. 9. Advent begins from Friday 28th November. It is a season during which,  we are expected to make ourselves,  worthy to welcome Baby Jesus, in our hearts and homes. Hence we all are urged, to prepare for a fruitful celebration, of Christmas by frequenting the Sacraments of Penance, and the Holy Eucharist, setting right our relationship with God and one another.

 

10. As the Yule-tide is fast approaching,  the Christmas Choir Practice started from  7th November onwards, every Friday at 6.30 pm in the Music Room.  Members of the Choir and  those with a good voice, may please join the Parish Choir. Please contact the Parish Organist.

ANNOUNCEMENTS  31st OCTOBER,  1st  & 2nd NOVEMBER 2008

 

1. All Saints Feast  is being celebrated  today, Friday 31st October and Saturday 1st November.

  

      All Souls’ Day will be observed on Sunday 2nd November.     

      We can gain a plenary indulgence,  applicable to the dead, under the usual condition,  that is,

      visit   to   the  church   with   devotion   and   recite  the ‘ Our Father ’ ,   the  Creed    and   

      pray  for the intentions of the Holy Father.     

     A special collection will be made during  these obligation masses

     for the maintenance of the cemeteries.

     The Salmabad cemetery will be blessed at 3.00pm and the Manama cemetery, at 4.00pm.

    

      From 1st to 8th November, anyone who visits the cemetery and prays for the souls in purgatory

      could gain a plenary indulgence.

 

2.      Our priests will be away for their Spiritual Retreat, which will be held in Abu Dhabi from the 3rd

      November.  All Souls’ Day will be observed on Sunday 2nd November, we can gain a

      plenary indulgence applicable to the dead, under the usual condition that is visit to the

     church with devotion and recite the Our Father, the Creed and prays for the intentions

     of the Holy Father.

 

      A special collection will be made during these masses for the maintenance of the

      cemeteries.  The new Salmabad cemetery will be blessed at 3.00pm and the old Manama  

      cemetery at 4.00pm. From 1st to 8th November, anyone who visits the cemetery and

      prays for the souls in purgatory could gain a plenary indulgence.

1.    The Feast of the Nativity of our Blessed Mother, called “Konkan Harvest Festival”, has already begun, with the novena and Mass in the Mother Church. The Feast will be celebrated on Friday, 12th September. At 6:45p.m., New Corn will be blessed, on outdoor-stage, in the Church premises. This will be followed by a procession and Holy Mass in Konkani, at Bishop Tirinanzi Auditorium, Mass offerings are welcome. After the Mass, there will be a cultural program and Dinner. 2.    The Tamil Prayer Group, will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Vailankanni, on Thursday, 11th  September 2008. The Novena Mass has already commenced on Tuesday, 2nd  September. 7.    On Friday, the 19th September, Catechism Classes will commence. The class Rooms will be indicated on the church notice board.

 

·        1st & 2nd standard children, will have to assemble, at the Social Hall, at 9 a.m.

·        Children’s Mass will be held at the Mother Church, at 9:00 a.m., for the 3rd to 5th standard children.

·        As usual, at 10:15 a.m., the Youth Mass will be offered, at the Multi Purpose Hall, for students of 6th standard and above.  

8. A new Catechists training course will commence on Friday, the 19th  September. It is open to all those who are willing to learn,  pray and devote some of their time to teach our children how to know and come close to God. Those who are interested, please attend the initiation meeting, on Friday, the 19Th September 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Byrne Youth Hall. Kindly bring your Bible along with you.  

9. As part of the Social Evening, a Karaoke Contest will be held on Sunday 7th September at the Bishop Tirinanzi Auditorium. All age groups are welcome to participate in the contest. Parishioners are requested to encourage and support the Contestants.  Those who wish to join various other contests, are requested to fill in the application forms which are kept outside Multi Purpose Hall and in the Parish Office.

The names of those who are qualified for the final round will be announced next Sunday. All participants are requested to attend that day along with their family members. 7.   Couples for Christ Bahrain will be holding its 30th Christian life Program CLP; every Friday afternoon starting from June 27th  to August 22nd , at Bishop Gremoli Social Hall . There are two programs which will be held simultaneously. The “HOLD” program, (Handmaids of the Lord) is for wives whose husbands are not in Bahrain; those whose husbands are unable to join. Widows and spinsters are also invited. The “SOLD” Program, (Servants of the Lord) is for husbands whose wives are not in Bahrain; those whose wives are unable to join Widowers and Bachelors are also invited. 5.    On Saturday, the 31st May is the closing of the Marian month, and the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s visitation to St. Elizabeth. This Feast will be celebrated at 6:30pm mass in the MPH followed  by  the procession to the out door stage

 

Petitions can be dropped in the heart box displayed in the MPH. Please do not put money or valuable items, as all   petitions will be burnt after the procession on 31st May.

2.    1.     The Good Friday Service will begin on Friday 21st March at 3:30 PM and the Easter Vigil service will begin on Saturday 22nd March at 8:00 PM. For those without transport to Isa Town we have made arrangements for buses, to leave the Bus stop near the Art and Craft Center

On Good Friday  The Buses will leave at 1:30,2:00 and 2:30 pm

On Holy Saturday         The Buses will leave at 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30 pm

Those who have space available in their cars are requested to kindly pass by the steel gate of the church to give people a lift, on their way to Isa Town for the services.

On Easter Sunday, there will be English Masses at Manama at 7:00, 8:30 and 10:00 AM and at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – 14th, 15th & 16th MARCH 2008

 

 

1.     Fr.Leslie Shenoy from the Diocese of California will conduct a proximate preparation for the Holy week & Easter on Monday 17th & Tuesday 18th March from 6:00 to 7:00 pm and Wednesday 19th March from 7:00 – 8:00 pm along with mass. All parishioners are urged to participate in this spiritual preparation followed by confessions until 9:00 pm. Please make your confession while priests are available in the confessional and do not wait for the last day.

 

2.     On Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th & Wednesday 19th March there will be a video presentation on the Life of Christ in the Bishop Tirinanzi Auditorium from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  All are welcome.

 

3.     We have invited Rev. Fr.Elie from Lebanon who will be with us from 14th March to 5th April. He will conduct a short Mission and Holy Week Services for our Arabic and French Communities. I urge all members of the respective communities to make time to attend these services.

 

 

4.     Various Prayer Groups will conduct Penitential Rites in the MPH on different days. Kindly refer to the notice boards for more details. Parishioners are urged to participate in these services and make a good confession in preparation for the Holy Week and Easter.

 

5.     Please bring your Lenten Alms Envelopes with your contributions from the sacrifices you have made during the season of Lent through Fast and Abstinence and put them in the boxes labeled “Lenten Alms” placed at the entrance of the MPH and the Mother Church.

 

6.     On Holy Thursday, we will require a lot of flowers (preferably White) to decorate the Repository Altar. Those who wish to offer flowers are kindly requested to bring them on Wednesday 19th March to the Sacristy. 

 

7.     20th March is Holy Thursday, there will be Adoration conducted by various Prayer Groups in the MPH at the Altar of Repose starting from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
