                      CREATIVE COMPETITIONS

 

1.                             POWER DANCE

Dance Competition will showcase the kids; ability, creativity and showmanship in the field of dancing

 

Guidelines

1.      This contest is open to all registered delegation (one entry per country).

2.      Each team must compose of 7-10 KFC members. A deduction of 1 point per excess or shortage in the number of members.

3.      Entries must also be composed of MIXED dancers – Boys and Girls (there should be more than 1 boy/girl in a group).  Non-compliance will automatically face disqualification.

4.      Maximum time for performance is 5 minutes including entrance and exit. Time starts once choreography starts and ends immediately after the last movement. One point will be deducted from the total score for every minute or fraction thereof in excess of the allotted time.

5.      Movements should not be vulgar or sexually suggestive.

6.      Costumes must be decent and proper for the dance. No tube, spaghetti straps, mid rib and back less costumes.  COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE deserves the right not to allow the performance of a group due to costume technicalities.

7.      Music should be wholesome and lively. Subliminal, sexually suggestive and vulgar lyrics/language will not be allowed. (E.g. Spaghetti, Sex Bomb, Too Close, etc.) Non-compliance with the guideline will result in disqualification.

8.      Only one song should be used.  Medley music is not allowed.  Lyrics of the song should be submitted together with the entry form.

9.      It is the group’s responsibility to signify their presence one hour before the competition and to show up at least one hour before their performance. Dance group who will not comply will risk disqualification.

10. Dance type should be contemporary or hip-hop

Each participating delegation must submit their entry on or before September 25, 2008 together with the CD and lyrics of songs.

2.                 POWER OF TWO

Duet Singing Competition that will showcase kids talent and confidence towards singing.

 

Guidelines

1.    This contest is open to all registered delegation (one entry per Country)

2.    Each pair will render a song of their own choice. It must be in English. Medleys (combination of 2 or more songs) will not be allowed.

3.    Running time per entry is a maximum of 5 minutes. There will be a one-minute grace period for entrance and another minute for the exit. One point will be deducted from the total score for every minute or fraction thereof in excess of the time allotted.

4.    The song must not contain subliminal, sexually suggestive and vulgar lyrics. Non-compliance of this guideline will result in automatic disqualification.

5.    All contestants are required to use a minus-one CD to accompany their rendition. Multiplex tapes, CD, live accompaniment and/or acapella will not be allowed.

6.    Costumes may be worn provided that they are decent, not vulgar. Wearing vulgar costumes will result in automatic disqualification.

7.    It is the pair’s responsibility to signify their presence an hour before the competition and to show up at least an hour before their performance. Participants who will not comply will risk disqualification.

8.    Each participating delegation must submit their entry on or before September 25, 2008 together with the CD and lyrics

3.                  POWER RAP

This will showcase the kids’ ability to rap and sing with a beat

 

Guidelines

1.  This competition is open to all registered delegation (one entry per Country

2.  Each team is composed of 2-4 members, including the rapper and the beat box player. There will be a deduction of 1 point per excess or shortage in the number of members.

3.  Use of any instruments is not allowed. Otherwise, one (1) point will be deducted for every musical instrument used during the groups’ presentation.

4.  Maximum time for performance is 5 minutes including entrance and exit. Time starts once choreography starts and ends immediately after the last movement. One point will be deducted from the total score for every minute or fraction thereof in excess of the allotted time.

5.  Contest piece should be done in English

6.  The group can bring along a maximum of four(4) break dancers to hype up the performance.

7.  Lyrics should be wholesome and not sexually suggestive or vulgar. Non-compliance of this guideline will result in automatic disqualification.

8.  Costume must be decent and proper for the performance. COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE deserves the right not to allow the performance of the group due to costume technicalities.
