Jesus Youth – A Profile

We Jesus Youth consider ourselves to be inspired and called by the Holy Spirit in these times, to be at the service of the Church and the world, especially the youth

We believe that we have been individually elected and called by the Lord to be part of this fellowship

We believe that our individual charisms and gifts will be better developed in this fellowship to be at the service of the people of God

We believe that youth is the hope for the world and the Church, and the Lord has specially called us to creatively and positively direct the youth for the building up of the Kingdom.

We consider ourselves to be part of that tradition of individuals and communities raised up by the Spirit at various times in history to renew the children of God through their commitment to the Heavenly Father

We achieve this through faithful following of the Lord imbibing the Word and being Loyal to the Catholic Church by following the teachings of the Magisterium and the hierarchy

Jesus Youth

Jesus Youth is an international Catholic youth movement that had its beginning in India and currently has an active presence in over 23 countries around the world. It’s a missionary movement that celebrates 25 years of service at the Church. The strength of the movement is a Jesus-centered life starting with God experience, growing through prayer, Word of God, sacraments and fellowship, and bearing fruit in a life style of sharing the Good News of Jesus with others. Jesus Youth is a network of small, but strong fellowship of young people. In their own unique life situations they strive to set apart time for the Lord, answering the challenges of today's world in the power of the Spirit.

Well convinced that youth is a time of great generosity and creativity, young people at all levels are encouraged to do something good with the Lord. This has resulted in the various ministries and faith formation projects under the wide umbrella of Jesus Youth. Campus Ministry, Parish Ministry, Work among children (Angels Army), Young Professionals’ Network, The Rex Band (Musical out reach wing of Jesus Youth), The Living Vision (Dramatics wing), reaching out to the poor, Mission initiatives, one year Full-time volunteering, Training programmes for different age groups, Internet Ministry including Joynet and prayer-net are some of the unique features of this movement. These are some of the powerful signs of the action of the Holy Spirit that make Jesus Youth a missionary movement.

Jesus Youth is active today in many other Asian and European countries. An International Team coordinates the Jesus Youth movement worldwide and the respective national teams do the same each country. The movement is very active in many parishes in the Vicariates of Arabia and Kuwait. Its fervently hoped that the active presence and fruits of this dynamic movement to empower the parish youth.
