"Lord make me a little lamp that burneth brightly, wherever I may go"

 

is the priestly. motto of the Parish Priest of the Sacred Heart Church, Rev. Fr. Thomas Quadros.  His arrival in Bahrain in October 2004 precedes an enriching journey through religious and academic fields.

 

A native of Kundapur, South India, he took up his vocation with erstwhile Capuchin Province in 1965.  On completing his graduation in Philosophy, he opted for Regency – community experience -at Monte de-Guirim, Goa, whilst also pursuing graduation and theological studies. 

 

He made his final religious profession in April 1974 and was ordained as priest on 30th December 1976.

 

Volunteering to work in North Indian Mission, he was the Asst. Parish Priest and Chaplain at Nainital, Rector of the Minor Seminary and was affiliated to various Parishes, Schools and Colleges.  During the 25 years of his mission in North India, Fr. Thomas took time off to complete his Licentiate in Missiology at Gregorian University in Rome and two years in Philippines for studies in Counselling.

 

He joined the Gulf mission, Vicariate of Arabia, in 2003 as Asst. Priest at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Jebel Ali.

 

Asked about his modest demeanor coupled with soft yet firm dealings, he attributes them to the initiation to strong value base by his simple parents, Vincent and Annie Quadros
