Announcements for 9th, 10th and 11th December 2016

  1. Fr. Charbel Fayad will be celebrating his Ordination Day on Saturday, 17th December. Let us pray for his intentions.

  2. The Parish Advent Mission conducted by Fr. Rex Cutamora will be held from Monday, 12th to Thursday, 15th December after the evening masses. All are welcome to attend the Mission. Priests will be available in the confessionals during the Mission.

  3. In preparation for Christmas, a Dawn Mass will be celebrated in Tagalog, the language of the Philippines, every morning at 4.30 am commencing from Friday, 16th December to Saturday, 24th December.

  4. There will be an Animation programme in Malayalam only for parents led by Dr. Sr. Treeza Grace on Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th, Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th December after the Malayalam mass. All are welcome.

    She will also lead an Animation programme for children on Saturday 17th, Sunday 18th and Monday, 19th December from 9.00 am to 12 noon.

  5. Couples who will be celebrating their Wedding Anniversary in the months of November and December are invited to attend the 7.00 pm mass on Monday, 19th December in the Mother Church.

  6. The Christmas and New Year services are displayed on the Parish Notice Board and is also printed on the Family Day 2017 pamphlet which is distributed after every Obligation Mass.

  7. The Parish choir practice for the Christmas vigil service has already begun. Those who would like to join may attend the practice session on Monday, 12th December at 7 pm in Classroom No 7 in St Anthony’s block.

  8. On Christmas day, the free Christmas Day programme “Home away from Home,” for our parish domestic workers, will be held in Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. There will be Holy Mass followed by entertainment, and distribution of Christmas gifts. Parishioners' support by offering cakes, snacks, gifts, telephone cards or cash is welcome. Food items may be delivered on the day itself at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium and gift articles may be handed over to the parish office. May God bless you for your generosity.

  9. The first batch of the Family day calendar is ready for collection from the Family Day counter. You may also collect a copy of the flyer with a message from the Parish Priest. It contains the mass schedule for Christmas and New Year. Please do not misuse or litter the church compound with the flyers.

  10. The Christmas and New Year Dinner Dance will be held on Thursday, 29th December at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium from 8.00 pm to 12.00 midnight. The price is BD 5/- per person, inclusive of dinner. Tickets are available with all Community Coordinators. Kindly patronize.

  11. The Christmas tree displayed in the church compound will be decorated with stars through the generous contribution of parishioners. Stars costing BD.5/-, BD.10/- and BD.​20​/- will be sold and put up on the Tree. The proceeds will go towards the needy of our parish. The name or photograph of the donor can be placed on the star. Let this Christmas Tree glitter with stars from every parishioner, while we extend help to those in need this Christmas.

  12. To commemorate Bahrain National Day, the Filipino Catholic Community of the Sacred Heart Church has organized a Holy Walk on Friday, 16th December at Arad Park, Muharraq with a reporting time of 7am and the walk beginning at 7.30am. All are requested to participate in this worthwhile cause.

  13. Prayer cards have been created for children and families for BD. 3. We encourage each of you to pray daily and own this precious set. These prayer cards are available in the Church compound or with Fr. Freddy D’souza. Kindly patronise.

  14. The parish calendar for 2017 is on sale in the church compound.

  15. Those interested in going on a pilgrimage to Europe next year from 20th February 2017 onwards, kindly enroll your names and submit the forms available at the office on or before 24th December. The sites include places of interest in Rome, Italy, France, Portugal, Switzerland, etc. For further details, please contact Fr. Amar and Fr. Peter.


  16. The Arabic community will be holding their 11th Annual Christmas Bazaar today from 7:30 am until 2:00 pm in the church compound. Proceeds will go towards the less fortunate. For further details, please refer to the notice boards.


  17. Today, the Catechism children from Stds. 4-12 will have their Christmas celebrations with the Holy Mass at 9.00 am in the Sacred Heart Church. Please note that the 9.00 am English Obligation Mass will be held at our Lady of Arabia Auditorium.
