Ash Wednesday, a day of fast and abstinence, is on 1st March. Ashes will be blessed during the morning masses and distributed at every mass on this day. The timings of the masses on Ash Wednesday are as follows:
The Masses in English in the morning will be at 5.30 am, 6.15 am, 7.00 am and 9.00 am. The evening masses will be at 5.30 pm and 7.00 pm. All these masses will be held in the Sacred Heart Church.
The Mass in Spanish will be at 6.30 pm in the Mother Church.
The Mass in Konkani will be at 6.30 pm in Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium.
The Mass in Tamil will be at 7.30 pm in St. Padre Pio Hall.
The Mass in Filipino language will be at 8.00 pm in Our Lady Arabia Auditorium and
The Mass in Malayalam will be at 8.30 pm in the Sacred Heart Church.
Please note that there will only be one Novena Service to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour after the 5.30 pm English Mass. There will be no Novena at 7.00 pm on Ash Wednesday.
During Lent, The Way of the Cross on Wednesdays will be at 6.15 pm and on Fridays at 4.15 pm in the Sacred Heart Church. Lenten Alms Envelopes will be distributed on Ash Wednesday, the proceeds of which will go towards the Campaign against Hunger and Thirst. Please take one envelope per family and return it on Palm Sunday or before with your contributions. Fast and Abstinence is to be observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday and is limited to individuals between 21 and 60 years of age. The First Friday Parish Holy Hour will be held on 3rd March in the Sacred Heart Church at 3.15 pm followed by the Stations of the Cross at 4.15 pm.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is completing fifty years in the history of the Catholic Church in May 2017. Our beloved Pope invites each one of us to celebrate The Pentecost 2017 Golden Jubilee with him in Rome. The Bahrain National Services Team is organizing this event from 27th May to 5th June – 9 nights with a pilgrimage and also including the conference. The last day for registration is 26th February.
