ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 26th, 27th, & 28th MAY 2023

  1. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for May celebrants will be held on Saturday, 27thMay at the 6.30 pm Mass. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate.  Last date to sign up is Friday, 26th May.
  2. The Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, will be observed on Monday, 29th May.
  3. The Closing of the Marian month with the Feast of Our Lady’s Visitation and FLORES DE MAYO devotion will be celebrated on Wednesday, 31st May at the 7.00 pm mass. The Rosary procession and offering of flowers will be held immediately after the mass in the Church compound. Parishioners who have statues of Mother Mary, which are not blessed, may bring them for blessing during the mass. Flores De Mayo and First Holy Communion children should wear their all-white attire and attend with fresh flower offerings. Petitions may be dropped in the heart box which is placed near the Altar of the Sacred Heart Church. Please do not put cash and valuables in this box. There will only be one Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help after the 5.30 pm mass on 31st May.
  4. The Pentecost Night Vigil in English with the theme “Come, Holy Spirit” will be held on Thursday, 1st June from 8.30 pm onwards. All Parishioners are invited to participate and be blessed with the power of the Holy Spirit.
  5. The Feast of the Most Holy Trinity will be celebrated on Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th June.
  6. The First Friday Parish Holy Hour will be held on 2nd June at 3.45 pm.
  7. On Friday, 2nd June, the African Community celebrates the Feast of their Patron, Saint Charles Lwanga and Companions commencing with the Adoration at 6.00 pm, followed by the Mass at 6.40 pm in the Mother Church. There will be a reception with light refreshments after the Mass. All parishioners are invited to be a part of the celebrations.
  8. The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Patron of our Parish will be celebrated on Friday, 16th June. The concelebrated Feast Mass will be celebrated at 8.45 am. On this day, various Parish communities and ministries will come together to organize a mini Family day. The flag hoisting will take place on Tuesday, 6th June at 6.30 pm in the courtyard. The Novena in preparation for the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, being led by different communities each day, will commence on Wednesday, 7th June after the evening Mass. For the Novena schedule, please refer to the Parish Notice Board. During this time, please note that we shall not have any other para-liturgical services, and we encourage all parishioners to participate in the Novena to foster our togetherness in celebrating the Feast of our Parish.
  9. On Friday, 30th June the Youth of our Parish is organizing a Cricket Tournament at the Indian Club from 5.30 am onwards. All parishioners are invited to attend and encourage the participants.
  10. The Lectors Ministry invites parishioners who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation and are willing to proclaim the Word of God. Those interested may submit their names and contact details at the Parish Office before 31st May.
  11. “One Direction,” a summer special has been organized for Kids and Teens on 1st, 2nd and 3rd July, and is compulsory for students from Grade 1 to 12. Please plan your summer vacation accordingly. For registration and other details, kindly refer to the Parish Notice Board.
  12. Parishioners who would like to volunteer to operate the computer to display the mass slides during weekday and obligation masses are requested to give their names at the Parish Office before 28th May. Basic computer knowledge is a requirement and training will begin by the first week of June.
  13. The CFC Singles for Christ invites all single men and women from 21 to 40 years of age to a Christian Life Programme which will be conducted from 19th May to 14th July at the St. Francis Center – Rooms 14 to 16, above the Religious Gift Corner. Registration Forms are available at the Parish Office or from any Singles for Christ Member.
