Parish Announcements – 31st January, 1st and 2nd February 2020

Br. Callum will be leaving for his further preparation for Diaconate and priesthood. There will be  a Thankgiving Farewell Mass on Friday, 31st January at 5.00 pm. All are invited.

The much awaited family event of the parish, Family Day 2020, with the theme “Together we are one Family” will be held on Friday, 7th February at the church ground from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. Parishioners, we count on your support towards this Family Day by donating tinned food items, gift items, giveaways, etc. which may be handed over to the Parish Office. Snacks and cooked food are to be handed over on the same day.

There will be entertainment and stage programmes throughout the day. Registration for the competitions mentioned below are still open.
1. Saints and Biblical Characters ( For Kids)
2. Talent Hunt ( 12 years and above)
There are limited entries on a first come, first served basis. The last date to submit the registration forms is 2nd February. For more details visit the Jesus Youth Facebook Page.
There will also be a Cooking Competition for 16 years and above. For details, please contact any of the priests or individuals whose names are mentioned on the Family Day leaflet or the volunteers at the Family Day Stall installed in the church compound.
Due to the Family Day celebrations on Friday, 7th February, there will only be 4 Obligation Masses. Masses in English will be at 7.00 am, 8.45 am and 5.00 pm. The Mass in Filipino language will be at 11.30 am. All these masses will be held in Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium. The entrance and exit to the Auditorium will be from the Al Zubarah Avenue. There will be no Catechism Classes, no Children’s Mass at 9.15 am, no Youth Mass at 10.30 am and no other language Masses on that day. The Blessed Sacrament Chapel will remain closed during the Family Day event.
Due to the Family Day, the First Friday Parish Holy Hour has been postponed to 14th February at 3.45 pm in the Sacred Heart Church.
Dear Parishioners, to help and serve the poor and needy with basic necessities of food, the Poor of St. Anthony team (POSA) requests all parishioners to offer their support either in cash or in kind by donating basic essentials preferably rice, lentils, tea, milk powder and cooking oil. These items can be offered before all masses or on Tuesdays before the 6:00 pm mass. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
