1. This week, we celebrate World Mission Sunday. During these 3 days, the collection made during mass and envelope monetary collection will go to the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of Faith. A mission for all requires commitment of all.  Kindly return the Mission Sunday envelopes with your generous contribution and drop them in the box kept at the entrance of the Sacred Heart Church.
2. On Saturday, 19th October, we celebrate the Feast of St. Mathew, Apostle and Evangelist at the 6.20 am mass.
3. In preparation for the Closing of the Jubilee Year of St. Arethas, there will be 9-day regular Holy Door Pilgrimage at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia accompanied by the Priest, from 15th October to 23rd October immediately after the 7.00 pm Holy Mass.
4. On Thursday, 24th October, we celebrate the Feast of St. Arethas & Companions at the 6.30 pm mass. Soon after the mass, Finding Life in Christ – a play honoring St. Arethas & Companions will be presented by the Catechism Ministry at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium. All parishioners are invited to attend.
5. Friday, 25th October marks the conclusion of the St. Arethas and Companions Jubilee Year. Everyone is invited to participate in the Closing Pontifical Mass at 10.30 am at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia which will celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi and all the priests. Due to the Jubilee Mass at the Cathedral, there will be only one mass in the morning at 7.00 am in the Sacred Heart Church. All other morning masses remain cancelled. The evening mass at 5.00 pm and other language masses will proceed as usual.
6. All are invited to a Musical Concert at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia which will be performed by the Little Singers of Paris, France on Saturday, 26th October from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Entrance is free.
7. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for October celebrants will be held on Saturday, 26thOctober at the 6.30 pm Mass. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 25th October.
8. The Feast of All Saints will be celebrated on Friday, 1st November. All the Masses will be as usual. For more details, kindly refer to the Parish Notice Board.
9. All Souls Day will be celebrated on Saturday, 2nd November. Masses in English will be at 6.20 am, 5.30 pm and 7.00 pm. For masses in other languages, please refer to the Notice Board.
10. On All Souls Day, the Christian Cemetery in Salmabad will be blessed at 1.30 pm and the old Cemetery in Manama at 3.00 pm. A special collection will be made during all masses on this day for the maintenance of the cemeteries.
11. We gain a plenary indulgence for the dead under the usual condition, that is by visiting the Church and with devotion, reciting the Our Father, the Creed and praying for the intentions of the Holy Father. Anyone who visits the cemetery from 1st to 8th November and prays for the souls in purgatory will also gain a plenary indulgence.
12. The Handing on Faith will be held on Friday, 8th November at 10.30 am in Sacred Heart Church. Due to this mass, the regular Youth Mass will take place at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium.
13. As we conclude the Jubilee Year of St. Arethas and Companions, there are commemorative coins of St. Arethas and Our Lady of Arabia available at the Parish Office and in the Religious Gift Corner. This coin has the image of St Arethas on one side and the image of Our Lady of Arabia on the other. Priced at BD10 per piece, the income generated from selling the same will be used towards the construction of our Bishop’s House.
14. The Sacred Heart Church will be conducting Piano Classes for children and adults of all ages under the guidance of Mr. Wilbun Frank Rodrigues. Classes will be conducted twice a week and charges will be at BD 25 per month with a one time registration fee of BD 5. For more details please refer Parish notice board or contact the Parish office.
15. The Jesus Youth Outreach Ministry in our parish is organizing a cricket tournament “Koinonia Cricket League” for parishioners on 8th, 15th and 16th November. The registration fee is BD25. For more information and registration, please visit the Jesus Youth Help Desk.
