ANNOUNCEMENTS – 15TH, 16TH & 17TH NOV 2024

  1. We are happy to inform you that the Parish office is now able to accept payments through scan-to-pay with credit or debit cards for mass intentions, certificates, contributions, and various other services.
  2. On Sunday, 17th November we observe the World Day of the Poor, with the theme “The prayer of the poor rises up to God” (Sirach 21:5). There will be a special offertory at the 5.30 pm mass where all parishioners are requested to donate basic food provisions which will be distributed to the less fortunate through the Poor of St. Anthony.
  3. We welcome Major Archbishop of Syro Malabar Church Mar Raphael Thattil who will be in Bahrain from 16th November to 18th November. There will be a Malayalam Mass on Saturday, 16th November at 6.00 pm in the Sacred Heart Church, which will be celebrated by him. Due to this mass, the regular English obligation mass will be shifted to Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium and the Konkani Mass will be at St. Padre Pio Social Hall at 6.30 pm.
  4. On Saturday, 16th November, we celebrate the Anniversary of the Ordination Day of Rev. Fr. Saji Thomas, the Rector of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia. Let us keep him in our prayers.
  5. There will be a Parish Advent Retreat in English led by Fr. Danny Capuchin from Monday, 18th November to Thursday, 21st November after the evening mass at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Due to the Parish Advent Retreat, on Wednesday, 20th November there will be one Mass in the evening at 6.30 pm followed by Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. All parishioners are invited to attend.
  6. The Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Universal King, will be celebrated on Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November. On Friday, 22nd November, being the Feast of Christ the King, there will be a Holy Hour of Adoration with the Blessed Sacrament being kept at the SACRED HEART CHURCH after the 8.45 am Mass. All parishioners are urged to spend some time in front of our Lord. The Adoration Chapel will be kept closed during this time.
  7. On Friday, 22nd November there will be Family Day at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia from 8.00 am to 9.00 pm. Due to the Family Day at Awali, the 10.30 am Youth Mass and the Catechism classes have been cancelled.
  8. To celebrate the Feast of St. Cecilia, the Patroness of Musicians, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Music Ministry would like to invite all the choir members from different communities to renew their commitment on Thursday, 28th November at the 6:30 pm Mass.
  9. The Konkani Community will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis Xavier on Friday, 6th December. The flag hoisting will be held on 26th November, and Novenas will commence on 27th November. The Feast celebrations on 6th December will begin with the blessing of the relic at the outdoor stage at 8.00 am followed by mass. All are cordially invited.
  10. In preparation for the Feast of St. Francis Xavier, the Konkani Community is organizing a Football Fiesta on Friday, 22nd November at the Indian Club with a six-a-side men’s football tournament and four-a-side men’s and women’s penalty shoot-out. Please refer to the banner displayed in the compound for further details.
  11. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for November celebrants will be held on Saturday, 30th November at the 6.30 pm Mass. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 29th November.
  12. There will be a Christmas Carol Singing Competition, open to all parishioners of the Church and Cathedral, on Thursday, 5th December at 7.30 pm at the outdoor stage in the Sacred Heart Church compound. Registration, for 10 groups only, has commenced and Registration Forms are available at the Parish Office. Last date for submission is 30th November.
  13. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be hosting a Bible Quiz “VERBUM 2024” on Friday, 20th December. All are invited to join, no matter their level of knowledge. Registration for various age groups can be done by scanning the QR code from the banner displayed in the courtyard. Last date for registration is 5th December.
  14. As part of the Parish Youth formation, the Parish Youth has set up a desk outside in the church courtyard. People in the age group of 16 to 35 are encouraged to register their names and be a part of the Parish Youth of Sacred Heart Church.
  15. AVONA Women, a program initiative by H.E. Bishop Aldo Berardi is organizing a 2 day conference with a theme “Women Discipleship and Participation in a Synodal Church in Mission”. On Friday, 29th November at 2:00PM – 5:00PM in Sacred Heart Church, Manama. And on Saturday, 30th November at 1:00PM – 4:00PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia, Awali followed by the Holy Mass at 4:00PM. Women interested in attending are requested to register their names at the Parish Office.
