1. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion for Parish Catechism children will be held on Friday, 25th April and for Sacred Heart School children on Friday, 2nd May. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered on Friday, 9th May.
2. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for April celebrants will be held on Saturday, 26th April at 6.30 pm. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 25th April.
3. Sunday, 27th April, is the Anniversary of the Ordination of Fr. Darel. Join us and pray for his intentions as he celebrates with a Thanksgiving Mass at 5.30 pm on that day.
4. The Feast of Divine Mercy will be celebrated on Sunday, 27th April at the 7.00 pm mass. The 9-Day Novena has already commenced. For the timings and venues of the Novena, please refer to the Church Notice Board.
5. During the month of May, the Holy Rosary will be prayed at the Grotto 40 minutes before the evening Mass.
6. During the whole month of May, a traditional Marian devotion called “Flores De Mayo” will be held every Friday afternoon from 1:30 – 3:00 pm in the Sacred Heart Church. Everyone, especially children, dressed in white, may take part in the prayers, petitions and flower offerings as a special devotion to our Blessed Mother. Personal petitions can be dropped in the heart-shaped box placed at the Altar. The Flores De Mayo culminates on the Feast of Our Lady’s Visitation on 31st May.
7. The First Friday Parish Holy Hour will be held on 2nd May at 3.45 pm.
8. The First Saturday of each month is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Holy Rosary, led by the Legion of Mary, will be prayed on 3rd May at 5.40 pm in the Sacred Heart Church.
9. The next Pre-Baptism Seminar will be on Wednesday, 14th May from 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm at the Audio Video Room. For registration, parents and godparents are requested to visit the Parish Office. This seminar is only for parishioners and expectant mothers too may register. Please be on time and do not bring children.
10. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be hosting a Bible Quiz “VERBUM 2025” on Friday, 16th May. All are invited to join, no matter their level of knowledge. Registration for various age groups can be done by scanning the QR code on the banner displayed in the church courtyard. Last date for registration is 5th May.
11. There will be a Marriage Preparation Course on Friday, 16th May at the Audio Video Room from 7.45 am to 5.00 pm. Those interested in attending are requested to register their names at the Parish Office and submit their Baptism Certificate, recently issued for marriage purposes along with the date of Confirmation before 15th May. The Certificate is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. The course fee is BD. 8/- per person, inclusive of lunch and the Certificate. Late comers will not be accepted for the course.
12. There will be a Kids and Teens Retreat for parish children from Class 1 to 12 commencing from Tuesday, 1st July to Thursday, 3rd July. This retreat is compulsory for all children. Parents, please make arrangements for your vacation accordingly. Timings and other details will be announced later.
13. We are pleased to announce an extraordinary opportunity to participate in the Jubilee Year 2025 through a Holy Pilgrimage to Rome, from September 21st to September 30th and 1st October to 10th October visits to Jubilee Shrines, and the reception of a Plenary Indulgence by engaging in Works of Mercy. This sacred journey is a call to deepen our faith, seek spiritual renewal, and embrace the grace of God during this special time of jubilee. Those interested in participating are to register their names at the Parish Office.
14. The Avona Women’s Program will host a talk on “Theology of the Body” led by Ms. Adeline Khouri. This journey includes: Part 1: Living testimony & Part 2: Teaching and reflection. It will be held on Saturday, 26th April at St. Padre Pio Hall, Sacred Heart Church, Manama from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. This event is open to women of all communities. Kindly bring RSV Bible & notebook.
