Announcements for 1st, 2nd and 3rd April 2022

  1. We welcome Rev. Fr. Anthony Carnice Almazan who is appointed as the Assistant Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Spiritual Director of the Filipino community. We wish him all the best for his new assignment as assistant parish priest.
  2. The Schedule of Holy Week and Easter services is displayed on the Parish Notice Board and our Church website.
  3. Palm Sunday will be celebrated on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April. Palms will be blessed on Friday, 8th April before the 7.00 am mass at the outdoor stage. Palms will be distributed at all obligation masses.
  4. The Way of the Cross will be enacted by Jesus Youth on Friday, 8th April at 3.15 pm in the courtyard of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. As one parish, let us accompany Jesus as He makes His sorrowful way to Calvary through “Via Dolorosa – Nailed To The Cross”, and meditate on the great love He showed for us during His most sorrowful passion. 
  5. Lenten Alms Envelopes with your contributions may be dropped in the boxes labeled “Lenten Alms,” which are placed at the entrance of the Main Church.
  6. The Parish Lenten Mission in English will be held from Monday, 4th April to Thursday, 7th April. For further details, please refer to the poster displayed on the outdoor stage in the courtyard. Due to the Parish Lenten Mission on Wednesday, 6th April the regular evening mass at 5. 30 pm has been rescheduled to 6.00 pm and there will only be one Novena to Mother of Perpetual Succour. There will be no mass and novena at 7 pm on this day.
  7. The next Pre-Baptism Seminar will be on Wednesday, 13th April, from 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm, in the Kids’ Hall.  For registration, parents and godparents are requested to send their names by email to [email protected] Expectant mothers too can register. This seminar is only for parishioners. Do not bring children.
  8. Last year Pope Francis formally launched a two-year global consultation process leading to the 2023 synod on synodality with a call to “look others in the eye and listen to what they have to say.”

To ensure that every voice is heard and views are taken into consideration, the Vicariate synodal team has released a questionnaire.  All parishioners are requested to go to www.avona.org, follow Synod 2023, click on the parish you belong to and fill in the questions asked.  Rest assured, your responses will be kept confidential.    
Only by journeying together and reflecting together on the journey through listening and discernment rooted in the Holy Spirit, will the Church will be able to learn through Her experience.
The Sacrament of Confession has commenced. On weekdays, the priests will be available for confessions from 9am to 12 noon and 6pm to 8.30pm. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays there will be Confessions during all English Obligation Masses. In preparation for the Holy Week, while the priests are available, parishioners are encouraged to utilize this opportunity to make their confessions.

We are fortunate to have many visiting priests with us. You may utilize this opportunity to obtain counselling from 9 am o 12 noon and5 pm to 9 pm. For scheduling an appointment, please get in touch with the Spiritual Director of your community.

  1.  Today is the First Friday of the Month. The Parish Holy Hour will be held from 3.15 pm to 4.15 pm and will be followed by the Stations of the Cross in the Sacred Heart Church.
