ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 15TH, 16TH & 17TH DECEMBER 2023

  1. The Christmas Celebration Mass for Catechism Children will be held at the Sacred Heart Church at 8.45 am on Friday, 15th December. The usual English Obligation Mass at 8.45 am will be held at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium.
  2. The Filipino Community have begun their Dawn Masses (Simbang Gabi) which runs from 15th to 23rd December from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, and also from 16th December to 24th December from 4.00 am to 5.00 am here at the Sacred Heart Church.
  3. The Feast of St. Sebastian will be celebrated by the Malayalam Catholic Community on Thursday, 28th December at 6.00 pm with flag hoisting and Friday, 29th December at 10.00 am at the Sacred Heart School grounds in Isa Town.  All are invited to participate.
  4. In celebration of the Bahrain National Day, the Filipino Community will have their annual Holy Walk For A Cause with the theme “For the Church journeying together” with Zumba dance exercise and medical check- up at Arad Park on Saturday, 16th December from 6.00 am onwards. The registration fee is BD4 with a free T-shirt and snacks. T-shirts are available before and after the obligation masses. The proceeds of this fundraising activity are for the medical assistance of our Filipino brothers and sisters who are in need. You can pay in cash or through BenefitPay. For the registration procedure, kindly approach the Registration Desk at the church compound to provide you with a link or QR code. Should you have any questions, please contact Bro.   5. On Monday 25th December, a free Christmas Day programme “Home away from Home,” for our parish domestic workers, will be held in Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. There will be entertainment and distribution of Christmas gifts.  Parishioners, we invite you all to please support this event by offering cakes, snacks, gifts, telephone cards or cash. Food items may be delivered on the day itself to Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium and gift articles may be hand over to the Parish Office and cash donations can be dropped in the box labeled “Home Away From Home Support” which is kept at the entrance of the church.     As Pre-registration is required, all Communities are to collect, from their respective community, the names, contact numbers and CPR numbers of domestic workers, labourers and fishermen who are alone this Christmas and wish to attend this programme. This list is to be handed over to the Parish Office on or before 22nd December.
  6. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for December celebrants will be held on Saturday, 30th December at the 6.30 pm Mass. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 29th December.
  7. All parishioners between the ages of 25 to 55, who are not involved in other liturgical ministries and wish to become Extraordinary Ministers to serve Holy Communion during the parish masses, are to collect the Registration Form from the Parish Office and return the same, duly filled in by 31st December.
  8. Parishioners are invited to make their confessions while the priests are available in the confessionals.
  9. The Christmas and New Year Mass schedule is displayed on the notice boards and on the Church website.
  10. Parish Calendars for 2024 are now available at the Parish Office and Religious Gift Corner. The price per calendar is 500 fils.
