1. Sunday, 11th February is the Commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes and World Day of Prayer for the Sick, an observation introduced by Pope John Paul II. Please pray for those suffering from illnesses as well as those who provide care to them. 
2. In order to prepare the ashes for Ash Wednesday, we request you to bring the palms from the previous years, and put them in the box placed at the entrance of the Church before 10th February.
3. Ash Wednesday, a day of fast and abstinence, is on 14th February. Ashes will be blessed and distributed at every mass on this day.
   On Ash Wednesday, the Masses in English will be at 5.30 am, 7.00 am, 5.30 pm and 7.00 pm in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. For the timings of masses in other languages, please refer to the Parish Notice Board. The Novena Service to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour will not be prayed on Ash Wednesday.
   During Lent, the Way of the Cross will be held on Wednesdays at 6.15 pm and Fridays at 4.15 pm in the courtyard. Lenten Alms Envelopes will be distributed on Ash Wednesday, the proceeds of which will go towards the Campaign against Hunger and Thirst. Please take one envelope per family and return it with your contribution on or before Palm Sunday by dropping it in the boxes labelled Lenten Alms which are kept at the entrance of the Church.
4. Friday, 16th February is the Birthday of Fr. Charbel which he will celebrate with a Thanksgiving Mass at 5.00 pm at the Sacred Heart Church. Please join us as we pray for his intentions.
5. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for February celebrants will be held on Saturday, 24th February at the 6.30 pm Mass in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate.  Last date to sign up is Friday, 23rd February. 
6. The much-awaited family event of the parish, Family Day 2024 with the theme “Reaching for hope, branching together” will be held on Friday, 9th February on the church grounds from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. On this day, there will only be three Obligation Masses in English at 7.00 am, 8.45 am and 5.00 pm, a Mass in Malayalam at 10.30 am and a Mass in Tagalog at 12 noon in Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium, the entry to which will be from Al Zubara Avenue.
7. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion for the children of the parish will be held on Friday, 5th April and students of Sacred Heart School on Friday, 12th April. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered on Friday, 19th April.
8. There will be a “Kids and Teens” retreat for parish children from Class 1 to 12 commencing from June 29th to July 2nd animated by Anointing Fire Catholic Youth Ministry team from U.S.A. This retreat is compulsory for all the children. Parents please make arrangements for your vacation accordingly. Timings and other details will be announced later.
