1. We thank God for the good weather and success of the Family Day which was held on Friday, 9th February. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all the supporters and donors for their generosity, and the volunteers who tirelessly worked towards the success of this event. 2. Friday, 16th February is the Birthday of Fr. Charbel which he will celebrate with a Thanksgiving Mass at 5.00 pm at the Sacred Heart Church. Please join us as we pray for his intentions.
3. There will be a Lenten Charismatic retreat in Konkani Conducted by Fr. Anil Kiran Fernandes Divine Call Center, Mulki, Mangalore & Br. Prakash Dsouza from The Divine Mercy Konkani Charismatic Group Bandra, Mumbai. From Sunday 18th February to Thursday 22nd February. All Konkani Speaking Parishioners are requested to make time and attend this retreat for their spiritual enrichment. Due to this Konkani retreat on 21st February the regular 7 pm English mass will be shifted to Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium.
4. On Thursday, 22nd February we celebrate the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter as the chair represents a precious relic and honour for the supremacy of Saint Peter and his successors, which has been celebrated from the moment Jesus entrusted Peter with his unique mission.
5. During Lent on Wednesdays, there will only be one Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help after the 7.00 pm Mass. The Parish Way of the Cross will be held on Wednesdays at 6.15 pm in the Sacred Heart Church and on Fridays at 4.15 pm in the courtyard.
6. Lenten Alms Envelopes have been distributed and are available at the Parish Office. The proceeds will go towards the Campaign against Hunger and Thirst. Please take one envelope per family and return it with your contribution on or before Palm Sunday by dropping it in the box labelled Lenten Alms which is kept at the entrance of the Church.
7. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for February celebrants will be held on Saturday, 24th February at the 6.30 pm Mass in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 23rd February.
8. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion for the children of the parish will be held on Friday, 5th April and students of Sacred Heart School on Friday, 12th April. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered on Friday, 19th April.
9. There will be a Kids and Teens Retreat for parish children from Class 1 to Class 12, commencing from 29th June to 2nd July, which will be animated by the Anointing Fire Catholic Youth Ministry team from U.S.A. This retreat is compulsory for all children. Parents, please make arrangements for your vacation accordingly. Timings and other details will be announced later.
10. Drops of Life. A Blood Donation Camp will be conducted in our parish under the initiative of Jesus Youth on 23rd February from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm. Please share the word urgently. We need to get 200 donors. All are urged to participate in this generous act to save lives. Please scan the QR code from the poster to register yourself.
11. Catholic children born in 2020 are eligible for registration to LKG for the Academic Year 2024 – 2025. Online Registration Forms are available on the school website www.shsbahrain.edu.bh from Sunday, 18th February to Thursday, 29th February.
