1. We thank God for the good weather and success of the Family Day which was held on Thursday 6th and Friday, 7th February. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all the supporters and donors for their generosity, and the volunteers who tirelessly worked towards this event. A Thanksgiving Mass for the blessings we have received in successfully hosting the Family Day 2025 will be held on Saturday, 15th February at 6.30 pm in the Sacred Heart Church.
2. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be hosting the Bible Quiz “VERBUM 2025” on Friday, 16th May 2025. All are invited to join, no matter their level of knowledge. Registration for various age groups can be done by scanning the QR code on the banner displayed in the church courtyard. Last date for registration is 5th May 2025.
3. The Parish Holy Hour will be held on 14th February at 3.45 pm.
4. Sunday, 16th February is the Birthday of Fr. Charbel which he will celebrate with a Thanksgiving Mass at 5.30 pm on that day at the Sacred Heart Church. Please pray for his intentions.
5. On Saturday, 22nd February we celebrate the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter as the chair represents a precious relic and honour for the supremacy of Saint Peter and his successors, which has been celebrated from the moment Jesus entrusted Peter with his unique mission.
6. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for February celebrants will be held on Saturday, 22nd February at the 6.30 pm Mass in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 21st February.
7. Ash Wednesday, a day of fast and abstinence, is on 5th March. In order to prepare the ashes for Ash Wednesday, we request you to bring the palms from the previous years, and put them in the box placed at the entrance of the Church before 2nd March.
8. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion for Parish Catechism children will be held on Friday, 25th April and for Sacred Heart School children on Friday, 2nd May. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered on Friday, 9th May.
9. Parishioners interested in serving as Multimedia Operators to display the mass slides at weekday and obligation masses are to submit their names and contact details to the Parish Office. Basic knowledge of MS Powerpoint is essential and candidates will be contacted for a training session.
10. We have printed a Bible Diary for the Year 2025 which is available at the Religious Gift Corner and the Parish Office. The price is BD 5/-.
11. Parish Calendars for 2025 are now available at the Parish Office and Religious Gift Corner.
12. Catholic children born in 2021 are eligible for registration to LKG for the academic year 2025-2026. An online registration form is available on the school website shsbahrain.edu.bh from Sunday, 16th February to Thursday, 27th February.
