1. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be hosting a Bible Quiz “VERBUM 2025” Bible Quiz, participants reporting time is at 3:00pm for the registration. Participants need to carry their ID Proof/CPR/Passport) which is mandatory. After the registration participants will move to the quiz venue. The Bible Quiz will be from4:00pm to 5:00pm. Please pray for all the participants.
2. On the occasion of Nurses Day, the Nurses Ministry is organizing a half-day Formation programme in English for all the nurses of our parish on Saturday, 17th May from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm at the Sacred Heart Church.
3. On Friday, 23rd May, Desideri from the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia celebrates his Birthday. Please pray for his intentions.
4. We celebrate the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday, 31st May at the 6.20 am mass.
5. On Friday, 30th May and Sunday, 1st June we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. On Saturday, 31st May we observe the Vigil of the Ascension of the Lord at the 6.30 pm mass.
6. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for May celebrants will be held on Saturday, 31st May at 6.30 pm. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 30th May.
7. During the whole month of May, a traditional Marian devotion called “Flores De Mayo” will be held every Friday afternoon from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. Everyone, especially children, dressed in white, may take part in the prayers, petitions and flower offerings as a special devotion to our Blessed Mother. Personal petitions can be dropped in the heart-shaped box placed at the Altar. The Flores De Mayo culminates on the Feast of Our Lady’s Visitation on 31st May.
8. The Solemnity of Pentecost will be celebrated on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June. The 9-Day Novena in preparation for the Solemnity to the Holy Spirit will commence from Wednesday, 28th May in the evening, soon after the English Mass. For timings, please refer to the schedule on the Parish Notice Board.
9. There will be a Kids & Teens Retreat entitled “IGNITE 2025 – Encounter Jesus’ Heart” for parish children from Class 1 to 12 commencing from Tuesday, 1st July to Thursday, 3rd July from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. Morning snacks & Lunch will be provided. Registration Forms are available at the Parish Office / Catechism Office and Religious Gift Corner. This Retreat is compulsory for all parish children. Parents, please make arrangements for your vacation accordingly. Last date to submit the Registration Form is 6th June. For more details, please refer to the banner displayed on the outdoor stage.
10. We are pleased to announce an extraordinary opportunity to participate in the Jubilee Year 2025 through a Holy Pilgrimage to Rome, from September 21st to September 30th and 1st October to 10th October visits to Jubilee Shrines, and the reception of a Plenary Indulgence by engaging in Works of Mercy. This sacred journey is a call to deepen our faith, seek spiritual renewal, and embrace the grace of God during this special time of jubilee. Those interested in participating are to register their names at the Parish Office.
11. The Konkani Community cordially invites all Konkani speakers to an entertaining evening celebrating the vibrant cultures of Goa and Mangalore. Join them at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium on Thursday, 22nd May, starting at 7:30 pm, for a musical evening featuring stars such as Sonia Shirsat, Ester Noronha, Lawry Travasso, Norman Cardozo, and the renowned MC Felly Gomes, along with performances by our talented local artistes. Entry is free.
12. The AVONA Women’s Program, under the guidance of H.E. Bishop Aldo Berardi, OSST, invites all women to a symposium titled “You Are Beautifully Made – Care for the Gift” which will be held on Friday, 23rd from 10.30 am to 12 noon at the Audio Video Room at the Sacred Heart Church. This will be a special gathering on breast care awareness, faith, and the beauty of womanhood, with guest speakers Dr. Joyce De Leon Lopez and Ms. Maricelle Ignacia Agton. Admission is free.
